soul, an infinite possibility
becoming tangible...
Blue is the universal love
in which man bathes. It is
the terrestrial paradise...
For blue, there are no
boundaries or solutions
Blue drags black in it.*
The work is a metaphor of the body in its most carnal, existential and essential state, confronting the human condition in an objectified, vulnerable and seductively powerful form. The video projected in a fireplace reveals the inside of the heart transformed into a disembodied weird being, an eerie and menacing creature, pulsating and trying to break its membrane. The sound is almost physical. Complete heart blocks, hypertension, systolic insufficiency, murmurs interrupted by short moments of silence are pervading the space transforming it into someplace ghostly. The amorphousness of the unfinished piece induces anxiety and visceral fear.
The baffling mixture of the normal and fantastic, corporeal and spiritual as well as artificial being leave the viewer in a liminal stage. The public is left reeling, simultaneously seduced and alienated, relishing the attraction but at the same time aware of something disquieting, something ‘other’.
